Pap N'Diaye born October 25, 1965 , is a French- Senegalese historian and lecturer at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (Paris). He is the brother of Marie NDiaye (well known Senegalese writer).
He completed his studies at the École normale supérieure de Saint-Cloud, with an agregation in history, a doctorat in Social Sciences (EHESS), where he is now a lecturer and member of the centre for North American Studies and member of the editorial committee for the revue L'Histoire and is a specialist on the United States of America.
He is considered as a key figure on the subject of Blacks in France.
His mother was french and his father from Senegal. He was brought up in a french suburb by his mother along with his young sister, the novelist Marie NDiaye (his father left them when he was two years old).
A brilliant student, he has become an authority on the question of blacks, racial discrimination.
As a Pioneer in black studies in France, Pap Ndiaye, calls himself a 'républicain universaliste', and is working on the definition of what Aimé Césaire called 'négritude'. He is a member of the action committee for the promotion of diversity in France.
