Professeur Salimata Wade is a biologist from Senegal.
On 9 September 2010, in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, she was awarded for her work as a nutritional biologist, one of the five prizes received for the best scientific women in Africa.
Doctor Salimata Wade won the Cedeao prize for science of live and earth, thanks to her engagement in the battle against malnutrition and her investment for the formation of human sciences of high quality to fight against this important challenge which is facing Africa.
The Professeur Salimata WADE is a specialist in nutritional and human foods, she works in the faculty of Science and Technologie where she is head of the department of Animal biology.
She was responsable for setting up a procedure for detecting badly nourished children and those suffering from malnutrition.
In UCAD, she is a member of the University Scientific council and runs the Doctorial school of Life and Environmental Sciences. Professor Salimata WADE had the honour of giving the inaugural speech for academic year 2008-2009 at the UCAD with the theme Nutrition and its place as one of the major tasks for Africa.
