(format : day/month/year)Biography :Rose Francine Rogombé (b. September 20, 1942). Trained as a magistrate, she was the first Women in Gabon to be named as President of the Senate. On 10 June 2009 she was made President Interim following Omar Bongo's death in Barcelona in Spain on 8 June.
She was elected to be President for a period of thirty days whilst an election is held. She is not allowed by law to be candidate for the post of future President. She was a loyal follower of Omar Bongo and had earnt a reputation as the Iron Lady whilst a magistrate.
She is married and has a large family.
