Biography :

Gaston-Paul Effa (b.in1965) is a French writer  and professor of philosophy of Camerounian origin.

Born in Yaoundé in 1965, he was educated in a school run by Nuns and, then, went onto to study in Strasbourg. Today he is a University Professor in Lorraine and has published two books Tout ce bleu(1995) Mâ (1998). He won the Erckmann-Chatrian Prize and the literary prize for Black Africa in 1998. In 2000 he published  Le cri que tu pousses ne réveillera personne in which he managed to mix the finesse of African Culture with the French language. 

He is concerned about the position of women in Africa and thanks to his association “ Pour les Arts du Monde “, he has constructed a college in Yaoundé which gives priority to the education of young girls. Currently he is working on the construction of a large library and which will become the only public library outside of the that of the French Cultural Centre.
