) is an Angolan-Portuguese
After graduating as a Bachelor in economics at the University of Coimbra where she had combined her studies with involvement in a radio station and participation in theater groups - she moves to Lisbon to study dance at Forum Dança and dances among others with Sofia Neuparth and São Nunes. In 1996 she moves to Holland to continue her studies in European Dance Development Center in where she graduates with BA in dance and choreography in 1999. Still living in Holland she takes part in pieces from Angus Balburnie, Mary Fulkerson and already in Germany in pieces by DINa 13 dance Company. She also choreographes her own work ,"My right eye is made of Glass
" and "Twinsted
" which was selected for Choreography 2000,
headed by choreographer Rui Horta and performed in NRW Tanzhaus Dusseldorf.
Her solo I.V. 2001 has been presented at Pfefferberg Festival (Berlin) and Unithea Festival (Franckfurt). In spring 2000 she goes to Berlin to co-choreograph "Triton
"a solo for one of the members of Sasha Waltz enssemble in the Shaubuhne. Since 2001 she collaborates with the belgium Company Les Ballets C. de La B. First with Christine De Smedt in the making of "9x9" and more recently with Koen Augustijnen. Still in 2001 she works with Constanza Macras in Mir- a love Story. She performs a piece "Mr Universe"
produced and performed in the Shaubuhne and Sweden- Konkret Festival. In 2002 she works with theater director Morten Travick in the piece "Fight Club
" in Den Nationale Scene Theater (Norway) both as performer and movement assistant. In 2003 she works with Company B.Valiente in Oslo in the production Elsk. She is Artist in Residence at Kultur Huset U.S.F. in Bergen (Norway), where she starts working on Automatic Id (AID) Automatic I.D. (AID) has been performed since then in Theater Balhaus-Berlin, Theater Garasjnen and U.S.F.- Bergen, Festival Dança de Almada, Museu da Água, Centro Cultural de Belém, Festival Coimbra Dança (Portugal), Fabrik Potsdam (Germany), Mokhovaya Theatre (St. Petersburg - Russian Federation), Dancekiosk Festival (Hamburg - Germany). Automatic I.D. (AID) was awarded the "Best Female Performance" at the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2005, was part of the Aerowaves Festival at The Place -Robin Howard Theatre in London and of Trienal de Luanda, Angola..
she created Gala-me
- a production company to support her creations - since then Gala-me has been uncharged of a Dance video Festival in Teatro Académico Gil Vicente and Semana[d]ança an International monthly event in dance teaching in the city of Coimbra. Her latest creation MiamiLuanda premiéred in 2008 with scheduled tour through Germany, Angola and Norway.
