Biography :

Natacha Appanah (b. 24 May 1973) , is a  novelist who is from the island of Mauritius.

She is French- Mauritian from a traditional Indian family background (Pathareddy Appanah) and was brought up in Mauritius. In Mauritius she worked on the Le Mauricien and Weekend Scope as a journalist.She came to live in France in 1998. She has become an active writer since. Her first book was the Les Rochers de Poudre. The book was published by Gallimard and for which she was awarded the RFO prize. She has since written three other books, Blue Bay Palace, La Noce d'Anna and Le Dernier Frére (2007).
