Biography :

Aurélien Mboumoua Eteki is the national president of the Cameroon Red Cross.He is also a former politician

His name is strongly identified with the image of the Red Cross. For some years now, Mr W. Aurélien Eteki Mboumoua is the national president of the Cameron Red Cross since 1997. His longevity in this position has conferred on him an unchallengeable authority in the humanitarian domain. Being at the helm of the Cameroon Red Cross, Eteki Mboumoua is just as if he is on retirement after an enriching career as politician and diplomat. Between 1961 and 1985, William Eteki Mboumoua successively occupied several ministerial posts, notably Education and External Relations.

Born on 20 October 1933 in Bonadibong, littoral province, William Aurélien Eteki Mboumoua earned a diploma from ‘Ecole nationale de la France d'Outre-Mer' (National School of Administration for French overseas territories) as Administrator of French overseas territories. He is also holder of a degree in Laws and diploma in Political Sciences. At the international level, between 1962 and 1970, he was member of the UNESCO Advisory Council where he served as Vice-President and latter on President of the UNESCO General Conference. In 1974, he was Secretary General of the Organization for African Unity (OAU). In 1983, he was member of the United Nations Advisory Committee on disarmament. Eteki Mboumoua has authored two books: Un certain humanisme (1972) and Démocratiser la culture (1974).
