Biography :

Born 30 August 1968 at Saint-Denis on the Island of Réunion, Catherine Boudet, is a sociologist, journalist and poet.

Having taught at the University on the Island of Reunion, she moved to the Island of Mauritius, where she works as a journalist, dedicated to helping define an identity for the Island.

Catherine Boudet has written three books of poetry, Résîliences (L'Harmattan, 2007), Le Barattage de la mer de lait (Ndze, 2009) and Nos éparses nos sulfureuses, préfacé par Ananda Devi (Acoria, 2010).

She has used her works to abord subjects such as the influence of the old colonial system in politics and discusses the advantages and disappointments of dialogue between religions, mixed race and the desire to emigrate which haunts the islanders.

Poetry has been her tool for destroying these myths.
