Youssef was born in Algeria, passed his Baccalaureat at the age of 16, an avid painter in his spare time, and went on to study Agriculture in Grenoble, France. Attracted to the world of cosmetics, and after having gained a Master's degree at the ESSEC, he joined L'Oréal in 1993, and rapidly rose from Supermarket salesman to product leader. He become President at L'Oréal before joining Lancôme. With a total review of their products, he brought their products to the forefront of fashion, taste and market consommation.
